Tuesday, August 4, 2026 – 12 Noon – 1 PM PT Theme: Scholarly Days
The theme for the day’s meeting was “Scholarly Days”
We are a Beaverton Toastmasters Club that meets weekly. We met only on line this week. This provides a different set of tools we have to practice compared to in person. Our Toastmaster was Kristin. Choosing this theme was based on school coming up, parents and children anticipating the resumption of school. First day of school for students in the area is on or about Sept 2. Some U.S. school districts have a large expenditure per child per year (5th most expensive) but do not have good educational outcomes (40th out of 50). Money does not equate to outcomes. Lorri as Grammarian, gave us “New” as the WOD. Evan’s prepared speech told of a dad’s Hero cape in rescuing a squirrel. Patrick was Table Topics master who got us jumping at scholarly prompts. We provided Evan evaluations by ’round robin style. We had a guest today who is totally new to Toastmasters. Jose was our General Evaluator. Pradip is back in town! Our next meeting is hybrid at the Library with Zoho. Info is listed on our page Meeting Information. See you there.
