The theme for the day’s meeting was “What do you like about February?”

We are a Beaverton Toastmasters Club that meets weekly. Lorri opened the meeting and then had to leave and relinquished her role as our Toastmaster. Kristin handled the Toastmaster role and Yan picked up the Grammarian role as well as Timer. That’s what Toastmasters can provide: practice handling curve balls. Dan gave a touching positivity speech about an elderly couple dealing with Alzheimers. This won him the favorite table topics vote. The Grammarian’s Word of the Day (WOD) was “journey”. Tom gave his prepared speech about a daughter returning home, which dovetailed with Dan’s positivity speech. Contests are coming up. Evan is representing TimberTalkers by participating in the Table Topics contest this year. Next week’s meeting will be on Zoho and at the Beaverton Library.
