Mid-Course Corrections: January 23rd, 2016
A group of us attended the Saturday conference, District 7 TLI -Mid-Course Corrections on January 23rd, 2016.
From the website: Mid-course corrections happen in every project or program. They give the stakeholders an opportunity to assess their progress towards a common goal. The same can be said about managing your club’s success. Are you on track to complete the year strong? Where can adjustments be made?”
I wasn’t sure what to expect but found an action packed day filled with discussion, new ideas, and excellent takeaways we can start using right away! Club officer updates, panel discussions, targeted sessions, lots of laughter, delicious food, and more!

I got a sense of the wider world of toastmasters, particularly the leadership positions at the district and world levels, and the diverse advanced goals beyond the CC and the CL.
— Steve Schmitt, President
This weekend, five members of Timber Talkers attended the District 7 Officer Training Conference at Wilson High School. It was a lot of fun for everyone (approx. 230 people attended total). There were eight classes to choose from in the morning and seven classes in the afternoon. They fed us breakfast and lunch. We got to listen to many great speakers and class presenters. Terry Wood, VP Secretary/Treasurer
Whenever I attend a District training or conference, I’m reminded that the Toastmasters family is really a big one! Many, many great people are involved and because of this we have a positive impact on the world. Jennifer Anderson, Distinguished Toast Master (DTM), VP Membership
The conference was fun. I learned new stuff. There was tons of food. Thanks go to all the volunteer presenters who were willing to share their knowledge and experience! –Kristin WT, Sargent at Arms
I learned so much about our club and Toastmasters in general. It was an enjoyable day together, listening, learning, talking, eating, sharing ideas, and meeting new friends. ~ Hilary Greenebaum, VP Promotions
The conference was entirely volunteer led and organized from everything to food, registration, speakers, handouts, rooms, signage, and offers of support. Such a warm and friendly professional group! It was wonderful to see in action Toastmasters International values of Integrity, Respect, Service, and Excellence.
Maybe next conference you will join us?!
See you at the Fire House Tuesday @ Noon!
